Aaand the black sheep of the cast. Yes, this guy IS from the same story, really. I told it was weird. :U

I'm going to guess this is probably the best time to drop the plot synopsis so the incongruity kind of makes sense.

The premise is basically this.

'Walter is a teenage boy who enjoys a popular fighting game. There is one particular character, a swordsman (Cadfael), who he is most skilled with. He even notes he feels a certain connection to the character, as controlling him has become so natural.

However, he does not know that Cadfael, and many others, actually exist in their own reality, which is quickly descending into chaos. Several have somehow managed to forge a connection with “our” world, being controlled by a “partner” who has a knowledge and perspective they don't, in order to get the advantage they need to survive.

But Cadfael is becoming weary and desperate to overthrow the evil instead of simply fighting for his life, and tries to contact Walter. He succeeds, but Walter is disbelieving at first. (This is the point where the “true” connection occurs) He goes about his normal routine, troubled, but not trying not to think about it. He only realizes Cadfael was not lying when he finds himself sharing his pain in the next match. Caught off guard, he ends the match early and runs home.

This is where their adventure begins.'

So Walter looks out of place because he IS. In every sense of the word. He doesn't belong in that setting, doesn't belong in that group, and is basically a complete stranger in a strange land, even if he's only viewing that land through someone else.

The story will hopefully deal with the complications brought on by this, mainly Cadfael's inherently dual nature. He's being controlled, but he still has a life and motivations all his own. And of course some other stuff. Not gonna spoil too much.

BUT YEAH UM.. about the concepts.

Walter's design is actually my least favorite. It's supposed to be plain but that kinda bugs me at the same time. I think his proportions leave a lot to be desired, too. ff. I guess I'll just have to keep practicing. TAT ;
